Ichibana

I did my first ever Ichibana arrangement. The art of Ichibana is very interesting and the arrangements are extremely symbolic. For instance, in the winter, no water should be showing in the front of the arrangement and in the summer the rule is switched. And the front of the flower should always be facing the direction of the morning sun. The arrangement is meant to be clean and simple. It was fun. There's going to be a class starting every month and I'm excited to be part of it. As you all know, I love flowers.

This is my first arrangement. I don't think it turned out very well, but I sure had fun learning about it. Our teacher told us we needed to listen to what the flower is saying to us.....um, I didn't hear much from mine or maybe I don't speak flower and that's why mine didn't turn out very good. I'll be listening next time.

You so totally speak flower. I remember your garden in Alexandria! in fact, I need some of your green thumbness over here to help me out!

Cool. Can't wait to have you teach us all for some craft night when you come back for a visit (or a another tour).
