Yunessun II

On Saturday, Amy and I decided to take our boys to Yunessun Hot Springs. You may remember me talking about the relaxing, luxurious, Yunessun in an older post, but this time was MUCH different.

Six hours on a bus, six hours at the hot springs, with 3 boys under the age of 4. It was a bit exhausting and chaotic. The best decision Amy and I made was taking along, Christine, who babysits the boys on occasion.

I must tell you that the boys did extremely well, much better than I had ever expected! I was waiting for several outbursts on the bus or uncontrollable crying, but not a peep. I was so proud of them.

It took awhile for Caleb to get use to the temperature of the water, but once he did, he loved it!

Riley on the other hand, loved the water from the moment he touched it.

This was the only cold water tub and Caleb got in with this father and son like he belonged to their family.

We had a good time, but...

I'm so exhausted from the walking and carrying of Riley up and down stairs and in and out of pools and tubs that my back aches and my muscles burn. I think I'm going to wait for Shawn to get back before we take anymore big excursions.

I did it!

I just wanted everyone to know that I got a flat tire today and I changed it! By myself, while two Japanese men watched me! Caleb was very impressed with my skills. As was I... considering what was in the trunk to work with. All the directions written on the jack are in Japanese.

And then, my other wonderful son cleaned up the toilet paper without me ever asking him to.

That's right, Caleb is like his mother and Riley is like..... his uncle Eddie.

Blogger vs. Facebook

I am having trouble keeping up with both my blog and facebook. Facebook is too easy because it's quick and you just write a sentence or two. Blogging takes so much more time, but I like that it's more personal and I can share more with less people. UGH. I have got to figure out how to spend more time blogging. I miss it. And I miss catching up on everyone else's blog. I feel guilty going to others' blogs when I haven't posted anything on mine. Like I need to give some some to get some... Is anyone else out there having trouble keeping up with all the ways to keep in touch?

My usual time for blogging is at night, after the kiddos have gone to bed. But I have been so tired lately that I just want to veg out in front of the t.v. and not think about anything. Is that plain laziness or what?

No Doggie Bag Needed

Who needs a doggie bag for leftovers? Not Riley. I always wondered what belly buttons were useful for, now I know. I love how my kids teach me something new everyday!

Good day sticker

Caleb has been doing great in school. His teachers say that he has awesome participation and a positive attitude with the other children. His favorite part of the morning is circle time where they sing the "Good Morning" song.

Yesterday, I picked him up and he had this bright blue smiley face sticker on his forehead. He was so proud of this sticker, he wore it until it was time to take a bath.

My new computer

Just in case some of you haven't noticed that I have been posting pictures again, I have!! Why?? Because I got a new computer!! I got a MacBook Pro and I love it!! It is so user friendly and FAST. I'm still getting use to the differences, but the differences are so awesome!! I am so glad that Shawn talked me into buying a Mac and not another PC. And yes, I'm putting that in writing, Shawn was RIGHT... now don't expect to see that phrase written again for a long time!!

And we have a bite

Yesterday was the fourth day of school and Caleb got bit on the hand... Bit!! OMG, I wasn't sure how to react at first when the teacher told me. She explained that the little boy wanted to play with a toy that Caleb had and Caleb wouldn't share so the little boy bit Caleb on the hand. There was no break in the skin and didn't leave a bruise so the teacher didn't write out a formal complaint, but would if I asked her to. She told me that this happens sometimes in a preschool setting and especially the first week of school.... I'm thinking, wait this is only the first week of school, aren't most kids on their very best behavior?? What's going to happen the second week of school??

I guess I should just be happy that it wasn't my child that bit someone...

Typhoon

These are just some pictures we took at the sea wall during the typhoon. It was a pretty mild storm, however, the school released students about 2 hours after we took these.

Caleb's First Day of School

Caleb had his first day of school on Monday, the 31st of August. The night before, we picked out his clothes, got his book bag ready, and set the alarm clock for 6am.

He was so excited.

And just in case you didn't know, we had a typhoon that hit on Monday. It wasn't too bad that morning, but got much worse and school was ultimately released early for full time students (not us).

Caleb went right up to the cubbie with his name on it. I was so proud that he recognized his name.

This is the sign outside his classroom. He's not in preschool, but it's called PSCD, which is a classroom just for kids with speech delays. He goes 5 days a week from 7:30 to 10:00. He really likes Ms. Anna, the assistant teacher.

The first day was a bit chaotic. Caleb, at one point, yelled at me, "Go mom, you can go now" and then once his name was called to join the other children, he started crying, "I go home now mommy, I go home" while he's pulling on my pant leg. When I went to pick him up, I asked the teacher how his day was and he said, "Caleb is very willful, but responds well to redirection." Hum...what a nice way to say that child of yours is stubborn!! I think I will use that word forever to describe him. "Willful" that he is!! Anyway, it has gotten better everyday. The second day there were not tears. However, he was put in time out for not cleaning up his toys before going outside (which he told me all about and I didn't hear it from the teacher). Today was the third day and Shawn was able to go with us to drop off. This time there were tears, but not Caleb's.

Caleb really seems to enjoy his class and his classmates. One of the little girls, McKenzie, gave him a hug good-bye today (such a ladies man). The week is going by so fast!!!
