2009 so far...

So far, Riley and I are still sick with a cold. Runny noses and coughs are a part of our daily lives. I'm not sure when we'll be feeling 100% again.

Being sick hasn't stopped Riley from growing and developing. He's starting to get up on his knees and reach for things. I don't think it'll be long now till he's crawling.

Both of the boys are getting play time out of the activity table Riley got for Christmas. Actually, Caleb just likes to show Riley all the cool things the table can do. He takes his job as "the big brother" very seriously.

Caleb is interested in having his picture taken again (since it means attention for him). He's realizing that acting ugly doesn't get him the attention that he wants, but that acting nicely does. It's great to have his smile back in pictures instead of the back of his head.

Riley on the other hand is always ready to flash a smile for the camera. His hair has grown so much, but still will not lay flat on his head. It's so fine that you can see his scalp. Caleb had thick hair by this age. Maybe Riley will have his mommy's hair instead of his daddy's hair.

We had to purchase a bookcase to organize all the toys and games that Santa brought this year. It has worked out well for my plants too, since Riley is such a grabber. I've had to move all plants in the family room above Riley's reach. Anyway, Caleb loved helping daddy put the bookcase together. Santa brought Caleb a tool belt full of Caterpillar tools, so he was ready with hammer in hand.

We've been keeping busy at home trying to get the house put back together from the holidays and trying to organize all the wonderful things that Santa brought for everyone. Being sick has taken it's toll on me and I'm ready to start feeling normal again.

I am glad you are on the mend but sorry you are not 100%. Hopefully soon! I have not even got the decorations down yet so you are doing pretty good if you ask me.

So sorry about the cold...hard when they linger so long. I have resigned myself to the fact that very year we will have runny noses and coughs in our house from November until April. Still not fun, though. Hope it end soon!! The boys are sooo cute!!
